indicating that a person is overly intellectual, obsessive, or socially impaired. They may spend inordinate amounts of time on unpopular, obscure, or non-mainstream activities, which are generally either highly technical or relating to topics of fiction or fantasy. Nerd: Someone that knows all about new technologies as well as popular culture, and collects those things associated with both (and considers them “cool”)

Geeks are: Did you know that geek or “geck” means fool or fop in German. Yes I’m surprised as well.
A person that utilizes new technologies to do interesting or useful things.
While we are at it, Dweeb means
Dweeb: Someone confused about exactly what technologies really are, and has less discretion in what they think is cool
We all could agree that as time goes, this term has been changed and also that overused differently but different set of people. Whatever may be, you should be proud of either one. Oh yea, except Dweebs, no one wants to be that.
