Five Years At A Embassy
Swedish and Ecuador government have come to an agreement which will allow Assange to be interrogated by Swedish officials. Assange has been leaving at Ecuador embassy for more than five years. Assange has been trying to avoid extradition to Sweden and United States where he believes he will not get fair trial. The agreement will come in effect in a few days where he will be questioned by Swedish authorities.
Assange’s lawyer, told Guardian that Sweden needs to formally approve he deal and that the “discussions” would be take place on Thursday.
The deal would ensure “the implementation and enforcement of national legislation and principles of international law, particularly those relating to human rights, to further the full exercise of national sovereignty in any event of legal assistance that may be required between Ecuador and Sweden”
