Obama Urges High Tech Firms To Fight Against ISIL

Encryption?

In a press conference Obama urges tech firms to help ISIL from escaping justice. It’s not clear what he actually means, what methods would taken in order to help fight against ISIL.

This could be hinting on Encryption, as US government is trying to stop tech firms to use encryption which they can not break. Majority major tech companies are fighting against this bill, because privacy matters.

… I will urge high-tech and law enforcement leaders to make it harder for terrorists to use technology to escape from justice.

For a moment, if tech firms are forced to use the encryption’s provided by the government, it could result in decreasing ISIL campaigns, recruits? Right?
Will you give up your privacy to stop ISIL, this is a stupid question, but this is what US government means indirectly.

No doubt, ISIL are a huge problem and should be dealt with soon, but will it be worth it? Governments are known for their mass surveillance programs.

Here’s what else we cannot do. We cannot turn against one another by letting this fight be defined as a war between America and Islam. That, too, is what groups like ISIL want. ISIL does not speak for Islam. They are thugs and killers, part of a cult of death, and they account for a tiny fraction of more than a billion Muslims around the world

“Our goal for these conversations is to find additional ways of making it even harder for terrorists or criminals to find refuge in cyberspace,” one senior administration official told CNNMoney

Let us know what you think, what do you think Obama means.
