Feeling down about the fact that Game of Thrones will be over in a few season ? Well worry no more.. HBO has got you covered. Westworld based on the 1973 film of the same name promises to deliver the dark themes, nudity and gore we have grown used to from GOT. Not forgetting cowboys.
Set in the not too distant future, the show features a western theme park (Westworld) populated by synthetic androids(NOT the OS) where the visitor(“guests”) pay huge amounts of money to visit and live out their fantasies. It is revealed in the pilot that some hosts have been experiencing weird behavior and start questioning their own existence. Viewers are drawn to get attached to a host named Dolores only for a guest to rape her before murdering her father in the most Game of Thrones-esk fashion.
HBO has invested in the show for the long run with the directors having planned the storyline for 5 potential seasons. With producers like Jonathan Nolan and J.J. Abrams and cast like Anthony Hopkins and James Marsden don’t worry about them cancelling this one too soon.
