Fair Trial and I will come home
I don’t think there’s ever been any question that I’d like to go home,” Snowden said. “I mean, I’ve from Day One said that I’m doing this to serve my country. Now, whether amnesty or clemency ever becomes a possibility is not for me to say.
Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena had the following to say:
That is, they guarantee that Snowden will not be executed, not that he will receive a fair trial. And it is guaranteed by attorney [general]
Of course I will not keep it secret, that he is considering and wants to return home, We are doing everything possible now to solve this issue.
Edward is motivated in his actions, first of all, by his desire to open the eyes not only of Americans, but of people in the rest of the world, to a total violation of human rights.
US Justice Department:
It remains our position that Mr. Snowden should return to the United States and face the charges filed against him. If he does, he will be accorded full due process and protections.
Snowden is not a whistleblower. He is accused of leaking classified information and there is no question his actions have inflicted serious harms on our national security.
Will Edward Snowden get a fair trial if he returns?
