Are DDOS Attack A Norm Now?

War Is On

You Have Been Hacked

Since it’s almost Christmas, many of you may have been in awkward situation last year when “Lizard Squad stole Christmas”. There have numerous “squads” or hacking group increased in couple days. The increase of creation of hacking groups increased in the number of attacks firms face.

Phantom Squad who announced that they will take down Xbox Live and PSN, just like Lizard squad, took down both firms few days ago. SkidNP, took down Phantom Squad’s website. It seems they are on a war with each.

“Hello Phantom Squad. Your website has been taken over by Lizards.”

You took credit for multiple attacks that you nor any of your members did. We are not so happy about this so we’ve taken over your site. Here is a suggestion. Quit while you have the chance because if you take credit for the Christmas attacks it will be the last thing you do.

While they are hacking each other, another hacking group named The Grinch Squad also vowed on taking down “fake Phantom Squad”. The Grinch Squad have been on a attacking spree. They have attacked Xbox Live and PSN not only that but today they took down eight different firms. While their attacks didn’t last for long, they did leave significant amount of damages and made quiet a few people unhappy.

…we pledge to attack and repeatedly root and run ANY vulnerable companies mark our words we will continuously attack any vulnerable website or company and keep doing so until they update their security. Christmas we’re getting 4 desktops and installing Kali Linux. Then the games begin and we rise. -The Grinch Squad.

So the question is are this firms not able to protect themselves and the users? The gamers play monthly membership fee. Which they should be able to game any time whenever they want. Some hacking group should not be able to disrupt their service this easily.

Kim Dotcom saved Christmas last year, as he gave out lifetime premium vouchers to Lizard squad but the attacks continued soon afterwards. Was that a right decision? Do this hacking groups want free stuff as well? Can Kim save Christmas again?
