Google have just announced Android M at Google I/O 2015. Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President said that the company had “gone to basics” with Android M.

The company released so many new “features” such as:

App Permissions

Now users can decide to allow access to permission when needed. You don’t have to agree to the permissions upon installations, which some of you might feel good about. As some people felt that asking permission before was senseless. For example, Google used WhatsApp as an example. When you use WhatsApp for recording your voice, then a pop will appear to allow access for microphone or deny it.

Improved Web Browsing

Custom will allow apps to open tabs on a active app instead of launching separate app, similar to multi window feature.

Fingerprint Support

Finger print support will be standardized. The new support will allow you to even make purchase in real life and also with Play Store.

Power Usage

Android M will be able to predict when a user is sleeping or just not using their phone. By using motion detectors it will be able to recognize user interactions. If the user has not been using phone for a while, the phone will go to sleep as well. This will significantly improve battery life by reducing background processing power.
