InstaAgent, a third party Instagram app, which promises that it will able to track users who view your account, have found to be malicious. No surprise there. David Layer-Reiss a developer at Peppersoft, found out that the app sends unencrypted usernames and passwords of it’s users to another server. It all post images on users profile without their permissions.

I would say “Who Viewed Your Profile – InstaAgent” is the first malware in the iOS Appstore that is downloaded half a million times.

While it’s not possible to find exact numbers of accounts were compromised, David Layer-Reiss claims that more than 500,000 users installed the app. Anyone who have installed the software should immediately change their password. This is the safest option even though your account may or may not have been compromised.
