Why is Lizard Squad Attacking Tor? Eavesdrop?
If a group can control most of the nodes then they can eavesdrop. If 50% of the relays are compromised then Tor loses it’s anonymity.
Anonymous to Lizard Squad
We don’t give a f–k about corporate bulls–t networks, we do care about 3rd world communications.
What is Tor?
The Tor Project is one of the most effective sites for encrypted communication, making it one of the most important internet services in the world
Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with built-in privacy features. Tor provides the foundation for a range of applications that allow organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their privacy.
Individuals use Tor to keep websites from tracking them and their family members, or to connect to news sites, instant messaging services, or the like when these are blocked by their local Internet providers.
Hey @LizardMafia don't fuck with the Tor network. People need that service because of corrupt governments. Stand the fuck down.

There's a total of ~8,000 Tor relays – @LizardMafia now owns almost half of them. Big implications on Tor anonymity. https://t.co/6RhTLqDS2p

Either way, @LizardMafia's Tor relay attack isn't new. There's a paper on how Tor loses anonymity if over 50% of relays are compromised.
